Michael is a Tandridge District Councillor for Portley & Queens Park, having formerly represented Harestone for many years. He worked professionally as an IT Project Director before retirement and helps in the community at Soper Hall. He also previously served as Chairman of the Caterham Valley & Whyteleafe branch.
