Election Results - Surrey County Council

The results for the County Elections in East Surrey were very pleasing, although we failed to return Caterham Hill to the Conservatives by a mere 12 votes and we were unable to retain Caterham Valley which was a huge disappointment.

Tandridge Council Leader puts forward garden village proposal

At last night’s Council meeting, Leader of the Council, Councillor Martin Fisher, outlined his vision for a strategic approach to development, as part of the creation of the Local Plan. 

Independent Review - 'Tandridge Local Plan is not flawed'.

An independent review of the Tandridge Local Plan process has recently been completed by the Planning Officers Society. The review concluded the overall approach being taken to prepare the Local Plan is appropriate and not flawed. 

Tandridge Council Agrees Budgets & Priorities

Tandridge District Council’s four policy committees met this week to agree budgets and priorities for 2017/2018 and beyond.

The Community Services Committee met on Monday to approve the budget, with no reduction in services and savings of 6%. Key achievements:

Surrey County Council Referendum

David Hodge, Leader of Surrey County Council, has announced a proposal to seek a council tax rise of 15%.

He said: “We have to set a budget that will protect vital services for Surrey residents.

Surrey leader made a CBE in New Year’s Honours

Surrey County Council leader David Hodge has been awarded a CBE in the Queen’s New Year Honours.

Mr Hodge, who has been leader of the council since 2011, was awarded the honour for services to local government and charity.
