Theresa May has launched the Conservative manifesto,
Our Plan for a Stronger Britain and a Prosperous Future.
This manifesto will meet the great challenges of our time, beyond Brexit. The next five years are the most challenging that Britain has faced in a
lifetime. Brexit will define us: our place in the world, our economic security and our future prosperity. So now more than ever, Britain needs a strong and stable government to get the best Brexit deal for our country and the hardworking people of East Surrey.
This means providing the NHS with £8 billion extra funding, cutting net migration to below 100,000, reforming the social care system and pumping an extra £4 billion of funding into schools by 2022. The manifesto also includes commitments to increasing the personal allowance to £12,500, simplifying the tax system and a promise that no school will have its budget cut as a result of the new national funding formula.
As Theresa May’s candidate in East Surrey, I am determined - if re-elected - that the interests of all our residents will be taken into account in all major decisions, both local and national. That means electing a strong and stable Conservative government in the national interest.
