We are delighted to announce Geoff Duck as one of our candidates for Queens Park in the Tandridge District Council elections on 6 May 2021.
Here is his message to Queens Park residents:
As a District Councillor, you find that the English planning system does have many good policies and methods. Though the persistence of some applicants to pursue particular schemes needs to be met with similar or greater persistence to make clear the correct use of planning policy. To put it mildly.
The community of Caterham and the area is strong and welcoming. This has been said to me by people who work with the Caterham community and other communities too. In their professional roles, they are qualified to make this comment. Overseeing the resources available for the community to function well and then better over time is essential. There is funding available from a number of sources to support different projects here, and these need aligning here in terms of what those various agencies can each provide. To the best effect for Caterham.
The Covid constraints are having an effect on us. This has made space to address new topics, and that is the silver lining. We must also look ahead and consider how people have been affected by this, not least schoolchildren and the interruptions they have had to face in very important educational years.
